Coastal Equine Veterinary Service was founded in 1996 by Dr. Craig Sweeney. The practice began with a handful of clients and a commitment to provide quality care with a very personal touch. Dr. Sweeney's mission was to treat each horse and horse owner as though they were family. Today Coastal Equine employs 4 full time veterinarians and a dedicated support staff who provide ambulatory care to a broad geographical area. While concentrated in Chesapeake, Suffolk and Virginia Beach, our practice area extends as far south as Wanchese, North Carolina, as far north as the Eastern Shore and as far west as Courtland, Virginia.
Our methods have evolved as we have grown in size, but our goal remains the same ~ Quality service with a personal touch.
